Shrek,the protagonist is a crotchety ogre with trumpet shaped years who has a heart of gold dip with in. His normal life is disturbed when the villain, lord farquaad , since the fairy tale creature into Exile. To make matters worse, they are dumped into shreks  swamp. He is aghast at this move.shreks and his faithful aide, donkey, set out to duloc to meet lord farquaad to request him to send them elsewhere .

Meanwhile, lord farquaad is told that he must be married into a royalty to become a true king. He decides to marry princess Fiona , who is locked up in a faraway castle guarded by  a fire breath dragon. Lord farquaad  announced a tournament ,the winner of which could help him rescue the princess.

Unknowingly, Shrek and donkey defeat the lord's Kinght and or landed with the responsibility of rescuing the princess .the audacious yet tender donkey manage to attract the dragon with his charm and Shrek manage to rescue the princess.

Shrek and the Princess discover many similarities between them. On the way back, Shrek, the ugly ogre discovers he is in love with the lovely princess Fiona .

But Fiona is tron as she hides and ugly secret. Can they confess his found to each other?
